Author Guidelines

Revista de Filosofie Aplicată (RFA) publishes the following types of texts: studies and articles (original works that are built around a topic in the field of applied philosophy); book reviews (for volumes published during the last three years,

The texts can be sent either in English or in Romanian. Regardless of the language in which texts are sent, all submissions must be accompanied by an abstract in English (250 words) and 10 key words. The title of the text should be also translated to English.

Studies and articles should range between 3000 and 5000 words (excluding the abstract but including the references).

Book reviews should range between 1500 and 2000 words.

The number of bibliographic references should be proportional to the length of the text and its topic: around 8-12 references for 3000-word texts and 15-20 references for 5000-word texts.

Concerning references: we are using both endnotes and a bibliography including all the sources.

Format for endnotes:

First name Family name, Year, Book (Place: Publishing House).

First name Family name, Year, "Article" in Journal, volume, issue: pages.

First name Family name, Year, "Chapter" in Editors' names, Book (Place: Publishing House): pages.

Format for bibliography:

Family name, First name. Year. Book (Place: Publishing House)

Family name, First name. Year. "Article". Journal volume (issue): pages.

Family name, First name. Year. "Chapter". In Editor's names. Book (Place: Publishing House): pages.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
